Foreign Investments in Albania / Focus on Priority Sectors
Albania is on the verge of introducing a unified investment law to enhance its appeal to foreign enterprises, according to Finance and Economy Minister Ervin Mete. Speaking at the presentation of the Foreign Investors Association in Albania's (FIAA) 2023 Business Environment survey, Minister Mete emphasized ongoing efforts to draft a new legal framework that aims to attract foreign investors, stimulate overall investments, and prioritize key sectors.
Minister Mete commended FIAA's survey, noting significant improvements in the general assessment of the business climate, particularly in dealings with tax and customs administrations, transparency, competition, and reduced bureaucratic hurdles. In the previous year, Foreign Direct Investments in Albania reached 1.3 billion euros, with a continuing positive trend, approaching 700 million euros in the first half of this year. The Minister expressed the government's dedication to specific policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing professional skills and encouraging youth participation in the job market.
